Ubuntu 25.10 daily builds are now running on the Linux 6.17 kernel. Linux 6.17 isn’t released until late September, but the Canonical kernel team has changed its policy to ship the latest in-development kernel release in new Ubuntu versions going forward. So, for the time being, this is an “unstable” snapshot — the unstable term is technical not literal as the kernel snapshot is a release candidate, with the usual Canonical patches and modifications applied on top.
