US firm Firefly Aerospace celebrates achievement of second-ever commercial lunar landing

A US company has successfully landed its spacecraft on the moon, marking only the second private mission to achieve the milestone – and the first to do so upright.

‘There’s quite a similarity’: US civil rights pioneers warn of ‘surge backwards’ under Trump

They faced violence and racism as they fought on the frontlines for justice and equality. Now Trump is reversing the progress they toiled for

Carolyn McKinstry knows about the dangers of extremism in America. She lived it.

McKinstry was the Sunday school secretary at the 16th Street Baptist church in Birmingham, Alabama, when the church was bombed by white supremacists on 16 September 1963, killing four Black girls – Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Roberts, all 14, and 11-year-old Cynthia Wesley.

Manchester United 1-1 Fulham (3-4 pens): FA Cup fifth-round – live

  • Live FA Cup updates from 4.30pm UK time
  • Why not email Daniel with your thoughts

Fulham, meanwhile, will have restored players who were rested for this match. With their Premier League status secure, they’ve no reason not to go all-out for the Cup, and given the teams left, they’ve a decent chance of making something happen. Bassey is exactly the kind of centre-back Hojlund can spend an entire match fruitless fighting; Robinson is a one-man left-flank; and Iwobi has excellent ball-carrying capabilities.

He’ll be devo’d about Dorgu, banned for the first of three games – already, his new signing had made a difference, giving United width, balance and physicality, doing the right things and building a promising partnership with Bruno Fernandes. Mazraoui, though a lovely footballer, offers little attacking threat from wing-back, likewise Diogo Dalot on the other side, while there could scarcely be less pace behind the nominal centre-forward, Rasmus Hojlund, both Eriksen and Joshua Zirzkee looking like they run in a wind-tunnel.
