Trump’s $1tn for Pentagon to add huge planet-heating emissions, study shows

Exclusive: 17% increase in military spending will add emissions equivalent to those of some entire countries

Trump’s huge spending boost for the Pentagon will produce an additional 26 megatons (Mt) of planet-heating gases – on a par with the entire annual carbon equivalent (CO2e) emissions generated by 68 gas power plants or the entire country of Croatia, new research reveals.

‘I was censored for a long time’: the woman who photographed Chile’s sex workers and dissidents

From brothels to boxing rings, Paz Errázuriz’s tender images always challenged the Pinochet dictatorship. Now 81 years old – and ahead of a UK show – the spiky-haired artist recounts a career spent on the fringes

When the Chilean photographer Paz Errázuriz showed her first photobook to a well-known society photographer of the day, he told her “look, a housewife will never be a photographer”.

“That’s what he said!” she laughs. “Imagine … that was my beginning.” Today, aged 81, her work documenting life on the fringes of Chilean society sits in the collections of Tate Modern and MoMA in New York and in 2015 she represented Chile at the Venice Biennale.

Women’s Euro 2025: Sweden v England buildup and the latest news – live

In case you missed it, Italy stunned Norway last night to reach their first major women’s tournament semi-final in 28 years. The Italians took the lead through Cristiana Girelli just five minutes into the second half. Ada Hegerberg then missed a penalty for Norway, blasting her effort wide. However, she quickly bounced back to equalise.

As the clock approached the 90-minute mark, the match looked as though extra time would be needed. However, Girelli struck again, this time with a headed effort at the back post from a Sofia Cantore cross.
